The Outpost lies in the northernmost part of Kruger National Park rich in historical and cultural heritage. Home to large herds of elephant and buffalo, prides of lion and the mountainous terrain is attractive to leopard.

Guided tours are also available to Crooks Corner, where in the late 19th century, the infamous Ivory Route passed, which acquired its name from the number of outlaws living there.
