Bush
Lodge Staff
Be pampered
by our warm and friendly staff
Through
our Community up-liftment program we endevour to source all employees
through the local community and hence the majority of the staff
at the lodge are from our local community that we have trained for
their respective positions. Continuous training ensures that they
develop further skills making promotions available to them.
For positions
such as chef, where skilled people have not been found in the local
community or in Venda we have employed a qualified chef that will
not only be responsible for the fine pan-African cuisine but to
train certain members of the local community in this skill.
Our community
is our investment
Our lodge
is managed by Lee Lawernce:
"My
priority is to ensure that upon arrival you immediately feel at
home in a warm, friendly and efficient environment to exceed all
your expectations. My focused attention to the detail of your requirements,
are based on luring you into a zone of relaxation, surprise and
enjoyment - so memorable that you would want to return again. As
a South African born farm girl, my hospitality career started in
the UK back in the 80's as publican and restaurateur. Owing to my
love for the bush, I spent the past eight years, mainly establishing
new lodges in the Klaserie, Zambia and Mozambique to now, being
in the tranquil and picturesque Soutpansberg."
Our registered
Venda Guide is Humbu Ramudingane
''
I am a home brewed Venda boy who grew up in the near vicinity of
our lodge. I carry deep knowledge of our culture, tradition and
crafts of the humble and peaceful Venda people. My educational background
in marketing, combined with my nature studies and experience has
helped me to understand and design activities that meet the client's
needs. As a fully qualified field guide and, having been associated
with the Kruger National Park as well as the Pilanesberg National
Park I had the opportunity to get in touch with guests from all
over the world, resulting in my approach to the ultimate satisfaction
of my guests expectations."
Our Project
Manager is Ingrid Hahn, daughter of the owner of Morning
Sun Nature Reserve and Mashovhela Lodge, Hans Hahn
"Living for many years on the reserve, feeling secure and looked
after by my building team I have been involved in the complete development
of the lodge. From its design, building, interior decorating, employing
staff to welcoming our first guests, my responsibilities are now
to work hand in hand with the management team of the lodge as well
as marketing this beautiful destination.
This
once in a lifetime opportunity, to make my father's dream come true,
has motivated me together with my son , to develop our eco-friendly
bush lodge so that we could share this natural heritage site in
the scenically beautiful Soutpansberg Mountains, with discerning
guests from all around the world.
I welcome
you all to share this part of paradise."
The owner
of Morning Sun Nature Reserve and Mashovhela Lodge is Dr Hans
Helmut Hahn
"It has always been my passion to conserve this remote spot in Africa
creating a haven for indigenous fauna and flora, which I achieved
together with my son, Norbert. My daughter and I now have the vision
to share this natural heritage site with all, through our eco-friendly
bush lodge, in order to protect the environment, uplift the community
and educate them and visitors in environmentally friendly living,
whilst enjoying and relaxing in this amazing part of the Soutpansberg
Mountains.
Using
my decades of experience as a chemical engineer I have managed to
run the lodge entirely on alternative, renewable and sustainable
energy. The lodge is now recognised as setting new standards in
Green Tourism."
