Newsflash! |
Mashovhela Lodge would like to extend a warm welcome to all the teams and their fans that were drawn to play at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
At the official World Cup draw held in Cape Town this evening it was announced that the following teams would be playing in Polokwane: Mexico, France, Argentina, Greece, Algeria, Slovenia, Paraguay, New Zealand
Peter Morrison, Marketing Manager for Mashovhela Lodge says “These are the lucky fans as they get to see a part of the country, that is not on the major tourism route, but if offers spectacular scenery, authentic culture and incredible wildlife. Fans who don’t have teams playing in Polokwane will just have to venture into our region pre or post the tournament.”
Mashovhela Lodge in the Soutpansberg is opening its doors to football fans and has a number of packages available over this period which can be viewed in our "Package" section of this website
“As we are a small Lodge, and accommodation is going to be of a premium in the area over that period, I would highly recommend that fans book early” Morrison adds.

Be pampered by our warm and friendly staff
Through our Community up-liftment program we endevour to source all employees through the local community and hence the majority of the staff at the lodge are from our local community that we have trained for their respective positions. Continuous training ensures that they develop further skills making promotions available to them.
For positions such as chef, where skilled people have not been found in the local community or in Venda we have employed a qualified chef that will not only be responsible for the fine pan-African cuisine but to train certain members of the local community in this skill.
Our community is our investment
Our Operations Manager is Ingrid Hahn:
Ingrid is the daughter of the owner of Morning Sun Nature Reserve and Mashovhela Lodge, Hans Hahn "Living for many years on the reserve in the Soutpansberg, feeling secure and looked after by my building team I have been involved in the complete development of the lodge. From its design, building, interior decorating, employing staff to welcoming our first guests, my responsibilities are now to work hand in hand with the management team of the lodge as well as marketing this beautiful destination.
This once in a lifetime opportunity, to make my father's dream come true, has motivated me together with my son , to develop our eco-friendly bush lodge so that we could share this natural heritage site in the scenically beautiful Soutpansberg Mountains, with discerning guests from all around the world.
I welcome you all to share this part of paradise."
The owner of Morning Sun Nature Reserve and Mashovhela Lodge is Dr Hans Helmut Hahn
"It has always been my passion to conserve this remote spot in Africa creating a haven for indigenous fauna and flora, which I achieved together with my son, Norbert. My daughter and I now have the vision to share this natural heritage site with all, through our eco-friendly bush lodge, in order to protect the environment, uplift the community and educate them and visitors in environmentally friendly living, whilst enjoying and relaxing in this amazing part of the Soutpansberg Mountains.
Using my decades of experience as a chemical engineer I have managed to run the lodge entirely on alternative, renewable and sustainable energy. The lodge is now recognised as setting new standards in Green Tourism."
"If it is friendly service, with big smiles and warm hearts, you are looking for, then this accommodation just north of Louis Trichardt is for you". Vince van Rooyen
